The CBD market is beyond saturated.
There are thousands of products available.
If you’re wanting to try CBD oil for its numerous benefits*, like:
natural pain relief;
lowered inflammation (hello, the root of all disease!);
better brain function; and
You want the best of the best — that means a pure and potent product.
In this article, I’ll show you:
what to look for when you’re shopping around for CBD oil;
why you need to buy from a trusted provider;
and the best CBD oil (which I use) that I’ve found in my search.
Why a Trusted Provider Is a Non-Negotiable
While CBD products are 100% legal, the CBD market isn’t regulated by the FDA.
This means anything goes when it comes to CBD products.
There are two really scary things that you might encounter with some shady CBD providers:
Synthetic cannabinoids (the active ingredients of CBD products) and
High levels of residual toxic chemicals like solvents, pesticides, and heavy metals.
Synthetic cannabinoids are artificially produced in a lab, rather than naturally occurring like in the hemp plant used to create real CBD products.
According to research, synthetic cannabinoids can have serious toxic side effects.
Bottom line is:
You want to stay away from them. Period.
While they may seem chemically similar in structure, we don’t know how they may impact the body in the long term.
Even more concerning, though, is this:
Residues of toxic pesticides, solvents, and heavy metals.
Conventionally grown hemp to produce hemp oils produce CBD oils with residual pesticides in the final products. With research emerging linking popular pesticides to cancers like Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, this is something you definitely don’t want contaminating something you’re using for your health.
Additionally, companies may use toxic chemical solvents to extract the hemp oil from the hemp plant. Long-term adverse effects of solvent exposure include leukemia, renal cancer, scleroderma, and neurological problems.
Heavy metals that are present in our water supply and air may also further contaminate CBD oil products. Companies may choose not to invest in extensive purification processes that remove heavy metals from the products and the FDA may not stop them. So, some CBD products may contain heavy metals.
To avoid issues like this, you have to purchase from a trusted provider.

The Best CBD Oil: What to Look for In a Trusted Provider
These are the must-have traits of the best CBD oil company.
If a company ticks off these boxes, you can rest assured that you’re getting a potent and pure CBD product.
Certificates of Analysis
Certificates of analysis are an absolute must! This is a document that shows the levels of cannabinoids and contaminants in the product. It’s the ultimate verification of a pure and potent product.
You might be able to view a certificate of analysis by emailing the company and asking for it.
But, the best kind of certificate of analysis?
One that is displayed directly on the product page. This tells you that the company has absolutely nothing to hide.
Organically grown hemp uses no toxic synthetic pesticides that can have long-term impacts on health.
If a company isn’t certified organic, their certificate of analysis should tell you the levels of pesticides in the final product.
Supercritical CO2 Extraction and Cold Purification
There are a few extraction methods that CBD companies can use.
Toxic chemical solvents can damage the integrity of the CBD product. Heat processing can also reduce the nutrient profile of hemp CBD oil, resulting in a suboptimal product.
Supercritical CO2 extraction, on the other hand, is the gold standard of processing.
It retains all the nutrients found in hemp (more on this later), so you get the most out of your CBD oil.
Cold purification techniques purify the oil without adding heat, resulting in a nutrient-dense, ultra-pure product.
High Concentration of CBD
The higher the concentration of CBD within a CBD oil, the more noticeable the benefits will be.
Concentrations up to 3000mg are ideal, especially if you are suffering from intense chronic pain, debilitating insomnia, or extreme anxiety. You may not experience relief with lower concentrations.
However, if investing in a 3000mg CBD oil is out of your budget, don’t skip out on CBD completely.
Lower concentrations like 350mg or 1000mg can also be beneficial for supporting overall health.
Super Important: Full Spectrum Extracts
If you want to make the most of the benefits of CBD, you need to opt for this:
A full spectrum CBD-rich hemp extract.
Full spectrum products honor the integrity of the whole plant. This creates an extract with a nutrient profile that mimics how it’s found in nature. This includes:
all the cannabinoids, the active ingredients, present in hemp (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC — that’s right, it’s not just CBD!);
all the terpenes (they give natural flavor and scent while enhancing the benefits of cannabinoids);
all the antioxidant flavonoids that promote cell renewal (Cannflavin A, a flavonoid unique to hemp, is a 30x more powerful anti-inflammatory than aspirin); and
sterols and waxes.
Full spectrum extracts produce a phenomenon called The Entourage Effect:
When all of the nutrients found in the hemp plant work synergistically to produce a better overall effect than the nutrients on their own.
CBD oil isolates only contain CBD and none of the other cannabinoids. When you take these, you miss out on a ton of the benefits of a full spectrum CBD oil.
Buying a full spectrum CBD oil will ensure you get the most out of your investment.
Dark Glass Bottle Packaging
Polyunsaturated fatty acids found in hemp oil are extremely sensitive to light and heat.
If they are exposed to light or heat, it can denature the product or worse, cause it to go rancid.
This damages the quality and effectiveness of the product.
This is why CBD oil has to be packaged in a dark, airtight dropper bottle.
Here’s another point to consider:
Oil can leach the toxic, hormone-disrupting chemicals from plastic into the CBD oil product.
To avoid this, look for glass packaging.
The Best Full Spectrum CBD Oil: My Favorite
Here’s a mini CBD oil review for my favorite full spectrum CBD oil:
This company ticks off every single box of a quality CBD oil company.
Not only do they preserve all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, waxes, and sterols, within their full-spectrum extract, but they:
display all certificates of analysis on their product pages;
offer concentrations up to 3000mg;
use supercritical CO2 and cold purification;
package their full spectrum CBD oil in a dark, glass bottle; and
use organic hemp to produce their products.
If you join their e-mail list, you can get 10% off your first order!
I use their 1000mg full spectrum hemp extract for period pain, boosting my brain power for the day, and lowering inflammation to support overall health.
The Verdict: What Is the Best CBD Oil?
When it comes down to it, this is what you need to look for in the best CBD oil:
Certificates of analysis, preferably displayed directly on the website;
Supercritical CO2 extraction and cold purification;
Organically grown hemp;
High concentrations of CBD available;
Full spectrum extracts; and
Dark glass bottle packaging.
If a company fulfills all these traits, you can rest assured knowing you’re getting a pure, potent, and effective CBD oil product.
